# Credits and plans

> How credits work in Muvomi. What each plan gives every month, what each tool costs, and when credits come back.

Everything in Muvomi that uses AI is paid for with **credits**. Your plan gives you a new allowance every month. Each tool has a set price, and the studio shows it before you start anything.

## Plans

-   **Free** accounts get their credits at the start of each calendar month (UTC).
-   **Paid plans** get their credits at the start of each billing month.
-   **Unused credits don’t carry over.** Each month starts from your plan’s full allowance.

## How you’re charged

**You see the price first.** Before anything paid starts, the studio tells you what it uses and how much you’ll have left, for example *Uses 40 credits · 1,240 left*. If you don’t have enough, it says *Needs* instead and nothing starts.

**You pay once, when the work starts.** Pressing a button twice, retrying, or reloading the page never charges you a second time.

**Exporting is always free.** You can download a film as often as you like. Free-plan exports carry a small Muvomi watermark, as do the pictures and videos you open or download on the Free plan; paid plans have none.

**What a film needs is included.** The voice, music and sound effects made as part of an AI Product Director film or an AI Short are included in its price, and so is a film’s first narration.

## Follow-up messages cost less

Three AI chats work on a project you’ve already made: the [video editor’s AI](https://docs.muvomi.com/edit/editor-ai/), the [AI Product Director chat](https://docs.muvomi.com/create/ai-product-director/#change-the-film-with-the-chat) and **Ask AI** in a [template](https://docs.muvomi.com/create/templates/).

-   The first message of a conversation is an AI edit: 20 credits.
-   A message sent within 30 minutes of your last one in that project’s chat is a **follow-up**: 10 credits.

The studio tells you which price applies before you send, for example *Follow-up · 10 credits · 1,240 left* beside the video editor’s send button. If the chat proposes an AI Video or AI Image, that generation is charged at its own price when you start it.

## When credits come back

You get your credits back automatically when:

-   **Something fails.** A generation that errors, or delivers nothing, is refunded in full.
-   **You cancel.** Cancelling a job that’s still running refunds it.
-   **The AI changed nothing.** A chat reply that made no change to your project is refunded.
-   **Our server restarts mid-job.** Your credits come back within 20 minutes at most (sooner for captions and AI chats).

## Running out

If a job needs more credits than you have left, nothing starts and nothing is charged. The studio opens the plans so you can upgrade. A bigger plan tops up the current month at once, so you can carry on right away.
