# Templates

> Choose one of Muvomi's motion templates and have it made yours from your words, website and files, then change it by chatting or by hand.

Muvomi has 52 motion templates: ready-made films for product demos, launches, typography, logo reveals, device mockups, explainers and social posts. Choose one, say what your film is for, and Muvomi rewrites the template’s words, icons, pictures, logo and colours from your text, website and files. It records a voice, composes music, and opens the film ready to edit.

Every template works in all four formats: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5. You can browse them all, with previews, on [muvomi.com/templates](https://muvomi.com/templates).

## Make a template yours

1.  Open **Templates** in the sidebar, or choose **Motion templates** under **Create with** on Home.

2.  Press **Choose a template**. Search, or filter by **Kind of template**, and press **Pick this template**. On the Templates page you can also press **Use this template** on any card.

3.  Choose a **Format**: **Landscape · 16:9**, **Portrait · 9:16**, **Square · 1:1** or **Social · 4:5**.

4.  Tell it what the film is for. Write a few sentences, paste your website address, or press **+** to attach up to six images, videos or documents. A website in your words shows as a chip.

5.  Press **Make my film**. The progress screen opens at once and shows each step with its time: reading your website and files, your logo and colour, planning the length, writing every word and choosing every icon, pictures, voice, music and sound effects. It usually takes one to two minutes.

6.  The film opens in the template editor, already yours.

You can leave the page while it’s being made. Home and Templates show **Show it being made**, and **Open it** when it’s ready. **Stop** cancels and gives your credits back.

> **Tip:** To see a template’s own sample without making anything, press **Open as it is** on its card. It’s free.

### Attaching files

Pictures and videos are placed in the film where they fit; documents are read for what to say. The file types and limits are the same as [AI Product Director](https://docs.muvomi.com/create/ai-product-director/#give-it-your-files). For each file, choose how the film should use it (**Content & artwork**, **Include in the video**, **Style reference only** or **Brand logo**) and add an optional direction.

## How long your film is

Ask for a length in your words, such as *“make it 2 minutes”* or *“90 seconds”*. A pasted script is read aloud as written. Otherwise the film keeps its template’s own length, or grows if you give it more to say. The finished film tells you what it chose.

-   **3D motion templates** can grow to about three minutes by adding new chapters. Nothing is repeated to make a film longer.
-   **Editorial and device templates** have a ceiling of around half a minute. If you ask for more, the film says so and suggests a 3D template.

## The template editor

The template editor shows the film with a chat beside it. At the top are the format, **Open in video editor** and **Render video**. Changes save automatically.

### Change it by chatting

Ask for any change in plain words, for example:

-   *“Make it 1 minute.”*
-   *“Add a part about pricing.”*
-   *“Make it 9:16 for Reels.”*
-   *“Make the colours warmer.”*

The suggestion chips write these for you without sending. **+** adds a picture, video, logo or website. Each answer lists what changed, with **Undo**.

The first message is an AI edit (20 credits); a message within 30 minutes of your last is a follow-up (10 credits). A message that changes nothing costs nothing.

### Change it by hand

Turn on **Edit by hand** to use three tabs:

| Tab | What’s there |
| --- | --- |
| **Content** | Every piece of text, the **Length** (**As designed**, **Extended**, **Full length**), the **Chapters** (reorder or remove), and the **Icons**. |
| **Media** | **Your logo** (PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, up to 20 MB) and the film’s pictures and screenshots (also MP4 or WebM, up to 100 MB). Use **Crop & position** to frame each one. |
| **Style** | Colours, **Pace** (**Dense**, as designed; **Steady**, about 20% longer; **Relaxed**, about 45% longer), the soundtrack and **Sound level**, the **Voice-over**, music and sound effects. |

### The voiceover

If you change the words after the voice was recorded, the old recording stops playing. Press **Record again** to record the new words. A recording costs 20 credits a minute of speech.

### Start over

**Start again from the sample** puts the template back as it came.

## Storyboard templates

Eight templates (Orbit, Luma, Ping, Flow, Bloom, Pulse, Prism and Obsidian) are made by [AI Product Director](https://docs.muvomi.com/create/ai-product-director/) as a new film in that template’s style. Choosing one shows a note saying so; it costs 60 credits, the price of a director film. Opening the sample as it is stays free.

## Render and edit further

**Render video** exports the MP4; exporting is free. See [Exporting and downloading](https://docs.muvomi.com/edit/exporting/).

**Open in video editor** opens a new edit with your film as one clip, so you can add footage, captions and music around it. The template film itself stays as it is.

## Troubleshooting

| You see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **Your film could not be made** | Press **Try again** to send the same words, website and files, or **Edit … as it is** to open the template unchanged. Your credits were given back. |
| *The connection was lost before your film was ready.* | Look in [Projects](https://docs.muvomi.com/workspace/projects/) (as **Motion film**) before trying again. |
| *Making a film needs … credits.* | You don’t have enough credits to make a film. The template still opens as it is, for free. |
| *Templates of this kind run up to … seconds for now.* | Choose a 3D motion template for a longer film. |
| The chat’s first line says your website could not be read | The film was made from your words and files. Check the address, or add details in the chat. |
